Twist of Fate : Marc Cucurella

  Chelsea made a league double against London rivals, Tottenham Hotspurs on Thursday, thanks to an absolute masterpiece of a performance from Marc Cucurella, he left-back shown like a million stars in the keenly contested derby.

  Recently, teams are beginning to invert one of their wing-back into the central midfield when they are in possession to effectively mount pressures on their opponents, yet only few teams have successfully orchestrated this.

   Mauricio Pochettino opted for this tactical approach, with Cucurella playing more like a classic DMF/CMF at the Stamford Bridge on Thursday night. He won 100% of ground duels he wan involved in 9/9, a feat last achieved in a Chelsea shirt way back 2019 by Mateo Kovacic, a natural midfielder.

  He made it a daunting task for the Tottenham duo of Pape Sarr and Yves Bissouma, forcing them out of the field in the 58th minute, the introduction of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Rodrigo Bentancur was rather destructive than Ange Postecoglou would belief. 

   Chelsea ran riot attacking mainly from the middle of the park where Marc was the dictator, giving captain Conor Gallagher the freedom to roam around and starting a link up play since Caicedo is holding it down deeply breaking attack and
