From being under appreciated to becoming London’s top striker, Nicolas Jackson’s rise has been nothing short of geometrical progression. The once under performing to a world-class hit man, doing the job for Chelsea FC.
Looking at his style of play, there is no doubt about his talent or ability, right from his first days in England, Jackson only needed to be more clinical and he would be among the elite strikers in Europe and the universe at large. He was beginning to understand his rhythm under Mauricio Pochetino, the Chelsea squad experienced a sort of heart break when they learnt that Pochetino is leaving at the end of the season, Jackson wasn’t an exception.
However, that decision by Toed Boehly to bring a coach with zero EPL experience as a manager began to pay off when he came in with a Guardiola-styled football, which needed a striker that’s good with the back at his feet, hence, Jackson was given a lifeline.
Things started working out as Jackson is now banging in goals more regularly than he was doing last season, and he is now celebrated by the same people who were criticizing him, what a good twist of fate.
Nevertheless, Jackson has not reach his maximum potential but he is obviously on a development that will see him sit among the deadliest strikers of his time.
Let’s keep our fingers crossed and expect the best from our young arrowhead from Djibonker.
