Artistes who ruined their Career
Today we’re gonna reel out the names of musicians who decided to leave the label that propelled them to fame in order to launch their own imprint and at the end ruined their promising careers.
1: Lil Kesh:Keshinro Ololade widely known as Lil Kesh is a Nigerian singer, songwriter and rapper. He was signed in 2014 by YBNL boss Olamide following his freestyle that went viral. Kesh gained widespread acceptance from fans and he became a household name in he Nigeria music industry.
He was nominated for the next rated artiste, which he lost to Reekado Banks another artiste on our list.
In 2016, he left YBNL to launch his imprint YAGI and that marked the beginning of his downfall, as he now struggles for streams and hit songs.
2: Reekado Banks:Reeky Baby as he is fondly called, was signed by label boss Don Jazzy In 2014 under the Mavins Record, he became a sensation with numbers of hit songs, won the 2016 headies award as the next rated artiste. He never looked back ever since, going on to drop chart topping singles and his name was in the lips of every music fans all over Nigeria and beyond.
In 2018, Reekado Banks announced his departure form Mavins in an Instagram post and things started going down form the moment he left the label to start his self owned label, Banks Music.
He got a couple of hit songs and faded away from the music scene for years before making a big statement with Ozumba Nbadiwe and then disappearing into thin air, what a bad decision he took.
3: Korede Bello: Korede Bello, a Mavins signee alongside Reekado Banks was making waves in the industry with absolutely good music, his hit single Godwin, became a national anthem, and garnered a strong fan base for him.
Things were going well dropping hit after hit, his songs was streams hundreds of million times in all streaming platforms, cementing his place in the heart of his loyal fans.
He also left Mavins in a bid to become a label owner, an act that turned his musical career around for the bad reason, moving from hit crooner to a struggler.
